Foil catches light in a way no other finish does. Applied to key design elements, gold or silver foil creates a card that people notice and tend to keep.
Works best with restraint. A logo, a name, or a single graphic element is all you need.
One thing worth knowing: foil needs bold, simple shapes to work properly. Fine lines and small text do not foil cleanly and the detail gets lost. If your design has intricate elements, get in touch and we will advise before any setup costs are confirmed.

How much does a foil block cost?
Foil block setup costs vary depending on the complexity and size of your design. We quote the setup cost upfront before you commit so there are no surprises.
Can I use foil on a dark card design?
Yes. Foil works particularly well on dark bases - gold foil on navy or black is a classic combination. The foil catches light regardless of the base colour beneath it.
What foil colours are available?
Gold and silver are our standard foil options. Other colours including rose gold and holographic may be available on request - get in touch and we'll confirm.
Can foil be combined with soft touch laminate?
Yes. Foil over soft touch laminate is one of the premium finishes we produce regularly. The contrast between the velvety matte surface and metallic foil is excellent.
