Business Cards - Debossed
Debossing is the understated alternative to embossing. The design is pressed into the stock creating a recessed effect. Subtle, refined, and well suited to brands that prefer restraint.
Works particularly well on uncoated stock where the recessed impression is clearly visible.
One thing worth knowing: the larger the design element, the deeper and more impressive the deboss. Small fine detail does not deboss well and the effect gets lost. If you are unsure whether your design suits debossing, send us your artwork and we will advise before any setup costs are confirmed.

FAQs:
What is the difference between embossing and debossing?
Embossing raises the design above the surface. Debossing presses it into the surface creating a recessed impression. Both are tactile finishes - debossing is more subtle and refined.
Which stock works best for debossing?
Uncoated and soft touch laminate stocks show debossing most clearly. The impression is caught in raking light and feels distinct under the fingertip.
Can debossing be combined with foiling?
Yes. Foil deboss combines the metallic finish of foil with the recessed impression of debossing. Setup costs apply for both and are quoted upfront.
Is there a setup cost?
Yes. A deboss die is required for your design. The setup cost is quoted upfront before you commit.
